General Care Notes:
1. Do not expose to prolonged sunlight or heat. Vinyl will wrinkle.
2. Be aware when folding panels for storage that the round point of
the snap can dimple the wall it rests against. Use cushioning to store
panels.
3. Be gentle when disassmbling. In rare cases the snaps may come out
of the wall. If so, please contact me for a repair kit and instructions.
It’s
easy to fix, just be careful removing the damaged snap. Never attempt
to drill a snap out, the vinyl will heat up and melt.
4. If snaps become noticeably loose over time: Using a pair of needlenose
pliers you can slightly crimp the outside edges of the snap socket
to compress the hole.
Assembling Displaysets
Installing snaps is a breeze. Displaybox roof and foorboards have snaps (C/D) pre-installed. To set snaps in the walls: Insert post A into pre-punched hole. Place socket B into anvil hole (B). Set post A into socket B back and use tool 1 to hammer the snap together with three sharp blows.

When doing custom projects and you need to set C/D snaps use tools 2 or 3. 2 is larger and allows for a slightly looser snaps, I prefer the smaller 3 myself. Push the socket (C) into the wall material and rest the cap (D) in the anvil divot (D) and use the tool to drive the socket (C) into the cap.
Inserting Artwork:
FOR REMOVEABLE (INTERCHANGEABLE)
DISPLAY ART: The
snaps create one limitation to consider: Once installed,
the
snaps prevent the artwork from reaching the edge of the panel, creating
a 1/2 inch margin along the top edge. The clear pocket opening is about
1/8th inch from the bottom edge. The bottom snap is under the clear
vinyl so the artwork can sit over the bottom snaps. See illustration
to the left.
Because the vinyl is black and if the margin is at the top of the Display box this isn't very noticeable, but it's something to consider if you want to be able to remove artwork from your displayset.
If you are using a Backdrop set only, then there are no snaps on the top and the bottom snaps will be covered by the artwork.
FOR PERMANENT DISPLAY ART: If
you'd like the art to extend to the edge of the panel then the
snaps
need to go through the artwork, thus preventing it's removal, but adding
a superior aesthetic quality. If you are purchasing a finished set
from Dida Displays we can insert the art and set the snaps for you.
If you'd like to buy a blank displayset and create your own artwork
you can easily set the snaps yourself. We can sell you a snap setting
tool kit for a minimal charge.
Exterior artwork can be removed regardless of whether the interior artwork is Interchangeable or permanent. The box flaps cover the empty space.
The
art sheet is cut to fit between the snaps and the edges are covered
by the box flaps.
